ABOUT LYRBE
Lyrbe (Ancient Greek: Λύρβη; also spelled Lyrba) was a city and episcopal see in the Roman province of Pamphylia Prima. Known primarily through its coins and references by Dionysius Periegetes, Ptolemy, and Hierocles, its bishops attended the First Council of Constantinople (381 AD) and the First Council of Ephesus (431 AD). The city is identified with modern Asarkale or Bucakşeyhler in Turkey's Mediterranean region.
