ABOUT LARISA
Larisa (Ancient Greek: Λάρισα), or Larissa, was an ancient Greek city in the south-west of the Troad region of Anatolia. Located on a small coastal rise now known as Limantepe, about 3.5 km from the village of Kösedere in the Ayvacık district of Çanakkale province, it sits at the confluence of Aegean trade routes. Not to be confused with Aeolian or Ionian cities of the same name — Larisa in the Troad was its own distinct settlement with a rich Hellenistic history.
