ABOUT LAGINA
Lagina was a town in the territory of Stratonicea in ancient Caria. It contained an important temple of Hecate, at which great festivals were celebrated every year. The city is located near Turgut, in the Yatağan district of Muğla Province. The friezes of the Hecate sanctuary — depicting scenes from the life of Zeus, a battle of gods and giants, a gathering of Carian gods, and a battle of Amazons — are displayed in the Istanbul Archaeology Museums.
