ABOUT ETENNA

Etenna (Ancient Greek: Ἔτεννα) was an ancient city in Pisidia, later classified under the Roman province of Pamphylia Prima. In 218 BC, its people — described by Polybius as living "in the highlands of Pisidia above Side" — contributed 8,000 hoplites to the Seleucid cause. Situated 900 meters above sea level in the Manavgat district of Antalya Province, the acropolis city (called "Dedekalesi" by locals) retains impressive city walls, a basilica, agora, church, baths, rock tombs, and cisterns.
