ABOUT ANDRIAKE
Andriake was one of the most important ports of ancient Lycia, located 5 km from modern Demre in Antalya Province (known today as Çayağzı). It entered the historical record in 197 BC when Seleucid King Antiochus III captured it from the Ptolemies. In 60 CE, St. Paul stopped here on his way to Rome, changing ships for his journey. Alongside Patara and Phaselis, Andriake was a key maritime gateway of the Lycian region.
